any good?
nothing worse than a wandering spot, I had one on my shoulder which I cold swear migrated to my arse!
Answer depends on what you want to use it for.
I got one for the ability to send out an emergency message in places where there's no mobile phone coverage. I've not had the 'chance' to test it in earnest, but I had no problem sending 'I'm OK' text messages. The locations were accurate.
If you want it as a tracking device to give your position on the move then you might want to look at the review somewhere on backpackinglight.com where the reviewer was complaining that the tracking facility was a bit hit and miss.
Otherwise it is a bit of a Generation 1 device - a bit big and clunky, and there's no confirmation that it's successfully sent a message (though in fairness I may be expecting something that isn't technically possible).
Not intrstested in tracking but I see your point about no confirmation messages.
I'm still glad I bought it - there's nothing else that would do the same job.
