Spokes of choice, Sapim D-Light, only come in even mm sizing. According to both DT swiss and Pro wheel builder I need 291.3 on the left and 289.9 on the right.

29" 28h 3cross

I'm fairly confident buying 290 for the right will be fine. but do I go for 290 or 292 on the left? I could get some custom cut, but I'm trying to keep this as cheap as possible.

Cheers

Always size up.

You don't want the nipple bridging any gap between the short spoke and the rim.

Get the longer ones, d-ligts run out past the end of the thread anyway so you can't physically bottom out a nipple if the spoke is too long.

Perfect. 290 and 292 it is. Thanks for the advice. 👍🏻

Won't actually matter, both are close enough but 290 and 292 is the best answer.
