This looks a lot less faff than the usual sticky rim tapes, but does it work as well? Any experience, before I land myself with a world of mess and disappointment ?

Yes, used them on a Camber and a Levo and have worked perfectly. Better than messing with sticky tape!

Have got them on most of our rims. Been using them for years and never had a problem.  So easy to re use after spoke replacements

Have had the Specialized ones and found them good, but would recommend the Newmen ones also, they work really well.

As above been using them for years with no issues, I'm surprised they haven't taken off and been produced by more companies

Are they harder to install?

I really like the idea of not faffing with tape - & they are cheap too... I see no downsides?

Just stretch them onto the rim - can have a slight faff in that you have to make sure they sit evenly, so you might need to lift and stretch it anywhere it's not centred/even - but miles less faff than tape.

They are generally a little thicker than tape, so might make a really tight tyre/rim combo a bit trickier. Bontrager do rim strips that make tight tyre/rim combinations literally impossible, do avoid those

So all really positive feedback and I've heard the same elsewhere but they seem to be some kind of secret. It's one of those really odd things that rarely comes up. I guess the answer is to get TJ on them, the putoline prophet, and then at least we'll get to hear the message preached at every opportunity 🙂

I think I'll give them a go on my 650b gravel wheels if I can get the right width

I'm sold too. I have a slow puncture on my rear wheel I can't track down and wondered whether the tape might be damaged.

Do you just buy for the correct wheel circumference or do I need to match the width? My Hope XC wheels are quite narrow (19.5mm internally I think) so I'm not sure if this will pose a problem.

-- Edit --

It looks like 23mm is the narrowest width, I imagine that this will be too wide and I'm screwed. Are there other brands in narrower widths available?

I use 32mm ones for 30mm Newmen wheels, they narrow a bit as they stretch

The Specialized ones don't shrink in the same way, IIRC, they're a less rubbery material. Might be on the wide side.

I found some Joe's Flats ones. 19-25mm seemed a bit much to cram in so I'be ordered 17-,19,mm 🤞

They'll be kept in reserve in case my slow puncture worsens or the tape fails. Worst case I have spare tape.

As above used for years with a no issues at all.

I tried stans when I needed a quick fix and couldn't get a 2bliss. No idea why anyone would use tape.
