What to get and why, 140 FSR frame needs a lot of bits.
Saddle choice will be a Charge Spoon as for the rest give me some ideas.

Which frame exactly? What sort of riding do you want it for?

Thomson stem and seatpost, CK headset, Easton carbon bars, BOS fork, rp23 shock, XTR drivetrain, XTR/saint brakes depending on riding. Stans rims to suit riding, on proIIs.

Ok?

Thompson seatpost, hope headset, EA70's bars, Rev RLT Ti fork, SLX drive train, ProII Evo again with stan rim to suit would be my personal current base choices

Sektor's, ProII/Flows, SLX Cranks, 2x10 gears, X9 gearing, Hope Headset, new Shimano SLX Brakes, Thomson post & stem, Easton Havoc Bars, Rubber Queen 2.2" Front, Nobby Nic 2.35" rear, tubeless, mmmmm 🙂 Not an expensive top drawer build but top drawer performance!

Presumably it's a 2010 onwards Stumpjumper FSR?

I swapped out the crank on mine for an XT almost straight away. I keep thinking about converting it to 2x9.

I have swapped the standard seatpost for a KCNC Scandium post, the bars to a KCNC SC Bone & stem to a KCNC Flyride. Did this mainly for the looks to be honest, although the stock bar was a bit narrow & the seatpost was scratched up.

I keep looking at some putting some nice wheels on it, but can't really justify the expenditure. I also am very indecisive & can't decide between some American Classic tubeless or some Hope hubs with Stan's rims (or other similar custom option).

Some interesting answers bike currently in use is this

[img] [/img]

Marzocchi XC 700 ATA forks
XT group set on a 2008 FSR Pro but with a Triad [better than an RP23]
Hope BB, Headset M4's and hubs.
Easton bars and spesh stem and seat post.
Tyres are 2.2 S-works Roll x Race [hard to beat unless it gets real muddy]
New frame is a 2010 FSR 140 with a Triad.

Issues with old kit
position of shock not easy to flick between settings. So back to the top tube fitting should cure that.
Forks, need something better so like the idea of Rockshox, reba or revs ?
Seat post Thomson, like that current one a bit too flexi
Sticking with Hope for everything else but
2 x 10
3 x 10
3 x 9
and should I go tubeless ?
