Spacers on fox fork...

[Closed] Spacers on fox forks: do they reduce axle-crown distance?

Currently got some float 140s fitted to my cotic soul. My LBS has suggested fitting a spacer to reduce their travel down to 120. They said the adjusted floats would ride better than Talas. However they weren't able to say for sure this would reduce the distance between between the axle and crown. If so, the advantages would be:

1. Riding the soul with 120mm forks, it's "sweetspot"
2. Don't have to buy expensive new forks

What's the collective view of STW on whether the spacers will turn my 140 forks into 120s?

Thanks

Nigel

Yes it will. By around 20mm. If they didn't know this please for the love of god don't let them inside your forks.

you could try running more sag in the forks see if you like it.

I would go the sag route.
I have a hemlock with rebas that i can adjust between 140 and 100mm and can barely feel the difference..

the spacers should't make any difference to the feel of the forks and will reduce the axle crown height by the same mm as the spacer. ๐Ÿ™‚
