Hi,

I can’t find any recent news about the Sonder FS 29. Any idea of the release date etc? I’m looking for a short travel 29er full suss.

Cheers

I’ve seen the latest prototype in the flesh at Hathersage and it’s quite different to the original hydroformed frame version. Latest one looks like the Evol. Unfortunately I don’t know about release date, but it might be worth giving the guys at Hathersage a call, as I’m guessing one of the ‘bike crew’ there might know (Ben, Rich or Joe).

I did some work at the house of one of the main guys and he suggested early this year but as that was a year or so ago I'm guessing timescales might have shifted a bit. Will certainly be interesting to see the finished product.

Hey Postierich

Oooh, have you demoed an Evol - what size frame and what were your impressions?

Cheers,

Bootsy

I have demoed an Evol from the Ambleside store, It was a large and was fine for me 5ft 10. Not a great day to demo as it was pissing it down and I was riding lots of cheeky rock and grass and the demo did not have a dropper fitted and had the bog standard tyres on it which were terrible (Trail Boss) manage to puncture 3 times once going up hill. Coming from a Whyte T130 it felt very similar but less flex. Overall for the money they are bang on as my FS bikes get trashed in the Lakes

Big thanks Postierich! - thinking of trying an XL (I'm 6ft) as my large hardtail geo is more like the XL of the evol

I'd be interested to know how you get on - I've decided to save for one myself if I can.
Although the FS29 is peaking some interest from me...

I had a quick ride on the prototype 29er at the Scott Mtb marathon last year (just around the events village), but that was enough for me to put it on the list of bikes I'm going to demo for my next new bike due later this year / early 2020.

Hey Matt_outandabout - will do! I'm also very interested in the 29er too - any ideas on the fork travel and offset?

Any news on when this is being released? I'm planning a trail bike soon and this really could fit the bill nicely.

Bump. I’m interested too - been looking around for a frame to build up.
