At 185 cm, 6'1" in old money would an XL camino be too big?
Size guide does say L is up to 6' 2" but thought I'd ask here what people are riding.
I think stem length, bar width and intended use comes into it a fair bit. I’m 5 9” and went for a medium with a 90mm stem but my intended use is more like a road bike I could take down fire roads. When I asked on the Camino Facebook page what size people were going for at my height it was pretty mixed.
I’m also 185cm and on a large with a 90mm stem with 44cm bars (78.5cm saddle height, just in case that helps)

I'm 185cm and was on a XL with a 90mm stem, the friend I bought it from is a similar height. Now on a large Escapade (5mm less reach) and 110mm stem.
186.5cm tall but have quite long limbs and average length torso. I've got a v1 XL and it's good. Some days it feels a bit long when my sciatica plays up but on a normal day it's okay. I should get a shorter stem and or would help. I'm no racing snake, I've got relaxed geometry
I test rode the L and XL in Hathersage in 2017. Large seemed okay but I was hitting my knees on the bar when out of the saddle.
If you're near West Yorkshire come and try it
185cm myself and ride a large with a 100mm stem and 44cm flared drops. Wouldn't want it any bigger. If you buy a full build they come with quite short stems to give a more upright position, I only had a 100 in the spares box doing the buold and was a bit concerned it would be too long but it works fine for me.
My mate is about 6'4" and he rides an XL, in my opinion that would be too big for me
@nixie how did you find the XL? Do you think the L would have been a better fit.
@Elshalimo, thx. roughly whereabouts are you?
From the others I think the XL might be a nip too big and I know I like many have succumbed to buying bigger than I need.
Looking at a second hand XL but it is a good few hours away.
Cheers all.
I never thought the XL felt too big but then I also never tried a L. Guess a lot of that will depend on your proportions. I think I'm even between leg and torso. If you were shorter leg and longer torso then stand over would become and issue. The other was to consider it is what sort of position you prefer. Do you want to be more upright or flatter?
