What's a good replacement for my solarstorm (probably knock-off) twin head unit light?

Looking for a compact twin unit (seperate battery pack) or possibly a small single unit like the MTB Batteries Lumen 800.

Looking at the cheap end, so under £20 for the head unit only.

If you can afford to go up to £30 (this is for head unit + battery) then the Magicshine MJ900 light that PLanet X are doing is a great light for the price.

Small, light, plenty of power, a good beam pattern & a good run time. I use it both on the bars and as a helmet light. The battery is light & small enough to strap to the rear of a helmet.

You can pick up a cateye volt 500 XC for about £30 which is just as bright to my eye as the solarstorm x2.

More of a bar mount light though and has a similar mount so it can slip a bit on bumpy ground unless you put some tape or a bit of inner tube under the rubber strap.

Biggest plus for me is it's self contained battery (recharge by USB) so no flappy cables and dodgy batteries/chargers.
I don't tend to need the 'full beam' often, I just use the regular beam.

It's definitely a better overall package than the solar storm x2.

If mine went at the moment I’d be buying a BL2s
