At the moment Penmachno, for example, is under about 18" of snow. Can anyone pass an educated guess as to whether it might improve for the weekend of New Years? Taking the bikes will be a massive pain, especially if they don't get used. Cold weather seems set in for the foreseeable, from what I can tell.

Cheers!

When do you need to decide? Look at forecasts the day before you go. We just need some warmth for a couple of days, the last lot went very quickly when it warmed up.

I'll be in north wales over xmas with my folks and am taking bikes with me, no idea if I'll be able to use them properly or not tho.

I believe 'they' have been saying the current cold spell could last for a month or so, but then their long term forecasting is about as reliable as reading animal entrails.

Take the bikes.

Bikes have to be packed tomorrow unfortunately. Hmm. I had better slaughter a squirrel and see what it's insides say, then.

Forecasts at the minute are saying temperatures above zero by the 28th so there should hopefully be a thaw. Also not much new snow predicted.
