I will be out Stu but not in the morning. Just about to go to a BBQ and I don't think I'll be in a fit state for the morning ride 😛

Im late in on this one, but just built this 🙂

Thanks to STW users for the Frame and Wheels (and other odd bits over the years)

YEs I know that tensioner looks like a deore mech...! I am thinking that if 36:20 works for me, I can get the perfect tension with a 1/2 link and a tiny bit of dropout filing....

ha brilliant, but you could alway have a couple of inches trimmed from your lower legs. Glad you happy with it, it was crying out to be built up and ridden.

put some blocks under the wheels to raise the top tube a bit, then you can drop the saddle

rOcKeTdOg - and move the brake levers away from the "jedi" position

the "jedi" position helps me stay my side of the bars... not always mind. rides good, tyres were a bit shite for wetter conditions and i was nervous at first as i thought the rigid forks would have me going off at tangents on wet rootes but it was all good, still seemed to have plenty of energy left after 3+ hours... maybe i just ate less pies! 🙂

what's with the misfit, can't be yours, it's only got one gear 😉

doesn't the chain bounce of the rear cog or have you some ingenious device back there?

No magic device back there. I've only ridden it for about an hour but no problems yet.

it's not ugly, it's useable, showroom bikes are for people who just like to look at them, get them out of the garage, polish them and put them back, i like to ride my bikes, a strange concept for many on ST i know 😉

first ride:

it's new, i built it, it feels weird at first, then i ride it a bit more, i drop the height of the bars, i raise the height of the saddle, it feels better but not quite there, i move the shifter inboard, feels even better, ride a bit more, back feels squirmy funnily enough just after some joker on a narrowboat shouts that there's something wrong with the rear tyre, so i put some more air in, feels even better, i mess about, practice stoppies, wowza, the brakes work!, that's a novelty, try some hills, riser bars are an experience i've not had for a while, different but not bad, raise the saddle a bit more, that's it, i'm home, on the comfy sofa with the remote at hand...but it's a saddle and a handlebar.

Anyone have any experience of the Turner Sultan? Looking maybe at the older TNT bike. The Anthem would be nice, but probably something a bit more niche,xc orientated and 100mm travel?
Thanx Max
