I've got a Zefal crud catcher alike on the front, the narrow one that is not too obtrusive. It took some inventive carving of the rubber bits so they fit around the cables. Has worked fine for 3 years now on the commuter. on the back got a rack with an extension - a cut of from an old roadie guard bolted on to give the rack about another 3 inches length.

chris, thnaks. I have that one also, which worked a treat on my Jake the Snake. I now have an awkward downtube though, which has crud bosses, but a brake hose down the middle, rendering the bosses worse than useless as they cause a 'lump' : here

~I don't think this particularly answers the question (sorry), but may be of interest

thanks for link, I had seen that and I have a set of SKS P45's that will go on for touring, but they have chuff all clearance for off road use.

I might go chop up a muckynutz gut fender and see what I can fashion for the downtube.

Mt Cotic X has the biggest SKS ones that fit in. With 38mm knobblies there is plenty of clearance. Never clogged up yet

matt - thanks. The Genesis has quite low clearance under fork bridge, so a downtube solution is probably going to be my answer
