This if it could be got in high res, still one of my fave TDF moments lance pretty much telling Jan I've got it have you? completely smashed ulrich seconds later
ich cannae open it crotchrocket!
Ah yes! Dave Watson at Alpe d'Huez
The hustler, you beat me to it. So iconic.
I knew there'd be a tryhard trying to claim less well known history
Baited trap worked perfectly ๐
It was on the Galibier.
Watson got bucked big time and ended up with his trousers round his ankles being chased by the gendarme... ๐

What's happening in that picture Clubber?
Ace stuff people, thanks, keep 'em coming. I've got one of Cavendish's wheel bending, and one of Cippolini smoking a cigarette.
I saw a picture on here years ago of Cadel Evans photographed from behind, with the bike virtually horizontal in a corner - never been able to find it though.
JHW clubbers pic shows 2 guys mutual respect crossing the line a couple of years later than mine, they crossed together having decimated the rest of the field
Dont know what is wierder in that photo... the sheep or Shleck smiling ?
the hustler - Member

More to the point, it was the final proper road stage that year where they went head to head and neither was able to drop the other.
Cool background
Haha I edited my post before you commented sir!
fallen to your own bait there clubber?
Could have been a good come-back until that pic (BTW is that Anderson and Roche in the background)?
Still spaces on the next Big Hitter seminar...
haha that is brilliant
probably need something a bit more sporting for my friend though
Some great pics over the years here:

Same here fella. Happy to give out Big Hitter tips though, I think my days on top are numbered.
All the pros hate the Devil don't they? Shout "Get a job" etc when they pass?

Not sure about all but probably because by all accounts, he stinks - he wears the same outfit right through the tour apparently...
How about the TdF Picture Archive from ProCycling HERE?
Some great ones but nothing that's quite perfect for him yet - but thanks. These are amazing pictures.
Come on keep hitting me up ๐
Anything that captures a moment particularly (but is available in large size for framing) - that "The Look" would be perfect but can't find it
I cant link the image here, but this one is pretty sweet.
Graham Watson has a huge collection of stunning photos, catorgized by rider and event I think. Worth a look.
Pretty sure that 'the look' is a Graham Watson pic so probably available to buy on his site.
It's hard to imagine that shot of Evans ending up any way other than him smashing into the barrier!
30 years ago, but it shows the class that Bernard Hinault had as he wins the final stage, and the TdeF, in 1982 in a sprint against the likes of Sean Kelly, Adrie Van der Poel.
This sort of thing does not happen these days.
What a rude man!
There are great galleries on the Boston.com/big picture site if memory serves me right.
www.bigringriding.com has plenty
I recognise a lot of those above from there, but no-one seems to give the link :-/
As above ...

This one for me Indurain held off the peloton through the Ardenne for a minute, single handed! There is another one from the same stage with Bruyneel(eventual stage winner) struggling to hold Indurain's wheel.
