Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!!!!
lol if only for the fish from the simpsons.
This thread is amazing. 🙂
Nice way to derail the thread jambalaya 🙄 😉
Loving all the funky edits of my bike!!
Loving the other Covert pics more!!
@gofaster I don't have the skill or creativity to join in. Anyway I expected Jamie to do something with it and he has obliged 🙂
I always claimed to be not I to bike bling but once I started with the gold I couldn't stop. Love the black bike @VanMan, they where sold out when I got mine but I really like the white now.

Not so glamorous but first time I've ridden the bike since Alps 2012 due to knee injury, she needed to get out and get a little dirty. BTW I found I needed chain stay protection top and bottom (heavy tubes) and paint chips from chain slap where quite bad even with Blackspire chain device.

Oh this is golden....
@jamba - I'm just pulling your pisser, man 😉
FFS 😳 🙄
Jambalaya, I know what you mean about using two chainstay protectors, I've done that from new, although I have to say, the paint does seem quite tough.
Rick, where was that pic taken mate?

Here's mine. And before someone says its been photo-shopped, its a 29er so the wheel's havn't been enlarged! Am I the only Covert 29er owner in the UK?

Anymore 29ers out there?!
I, just, uhh, oh...
somewhere in the pyrenees aaron, went away with basque mtb early this year.
Nice, lucky bugger!
@eurokid - I wouldn't say the paint is tough - it rubbed off when on a single uplift van, rubbed off under crank where cable touches, few decent dings in upper chain stay till I covered it. Now this was when being used in Alps which is pretty tough on the bike but that was in just a few days. I had an old Reign (2006) before and the finish on that was much more robust
I don't think the paint is that tough either. IT started to rub off afer a few drives with the bike in a Thule 591 carrier. I've now put heli-tape on the contact points. Also the supplied touch up paint is very thin and I can't get a decent covering without it dripping no matter how thin I try to apply it. I've just resigned myself to the fact that in a couple of years time it'll need a re-spray if i'm that bothered about its appearance, but to be honest i'm not that precious about it, I use it and accept that in the act of using it, it will pick up bumps, scrapes and damage. I'll take reasonable steps to protect it but wont go anal over it.
I'm OCD with my bikes so they get covered in tape and polished after every ride!
Not had any chips yet but the rear hose did wear through the tape on my headtube after riding solid for 3 days in Scotland. I also use a Thule 561 fork mounted carrier so thankfully I don't have to worry about frame rub, and the bike seems to be more secure.
Don't get me wrong, if I scratch it when riding then so be it, afterall, I'm a mountain biker in the uk and the weather doesn't help! I just hate uneccesary marks that can be avoided. (Cue further abuse!)

I know, no offence taken
@eurokid - I am a big fan of pride in ownership
@wobliscott - you might be the only person to admit to owning one ! Nirvana Cycles where I got my Covert had a Bandit 29er as a demo which looked pretty good I have to say.
Raw frame here & the lacquer has rubbed off pretty easy but touching it up with clear nail varnish seems to help.

Right there with you on that one , if my bike looks beaten up from use that's just the scar's of life but damage in transit is annoying.
Gofasterstripes - I've just seen your attached photo in all its glory - the warped wheels didn't show up that well on my phone earlier. As Yoda would say "Your skills as a photoshopper complete are they"! However i'd like to confirm that even the heat of the recent british summer we've been basking in this year hasn't been enough to warp the 29" wagon wheels on my bike. Though if you feel the weight of those Revolution 28 wheels I think they'd survive a thermonuclear strike. I love the bike though despite the heavy wagon wheels.
@wobbliscott, I feel we need to see a youtube/vimeo film of you riding with Rawhide (from Blues Brothers) as the sound track with a big finale of tail whipping jumpines to prove that a Covert 29er can fly, so get working ... 8)
Jambalaya - despite what people may think of the wheelsize debate, the 29er makes more sense on the face of it on a Bandit as it is more of an XC/trail mile muncher of a bike. With the Covert being more of a gravity orientated jumpy trail bike it doesn't seem to suit the 29" wheels on the face of it. But I must say they work very well on my Covert for the riding I do. My logic in going for the 29er was that I wanted a true AM bike - so robust and fun plus good XC ability. I do like to get airborne as much as possible and the bike is plenty robust enough for what I do, but I could pedal it all day if necessary so it fits the bill for me. Though the 2014 model is available in all 3 wheel sizes so Transition are covering all bases on the Covert and letting the public decide.
not sure if you can see this one, but its lush
I love this thread. And it's beginning to sound like I'd love this bike too... Damn I need to work faster so I have more playtime. But then I'd not be on here messing with your pictures and making you smile when I should be doing my coursework 🙂
Here's to silly days - with that I'm going to have a Pastis!
I spent 3 years riding my beloved Enduro but I have to say the Covert rides better, thankfully Orange pissed me off by taking ages with my new frame otherwise I could've been on a 2014 Alpine instead, I absolutely love my Covert and so glad I bought it!
Anyone else eyeing up their next covert build 😀
Jambalya - I missed your note before - tail whips? I think your definition of jumps is very different to mine! I'm defiately at the stage where wheel size is not the limiting factor to my capabilities - but i'm learning and giving it a go! I'm whooping at 12 inches off the ground, and if I ever managed to pull off a tail whip I think i'd cream my pants! My mates been messing around with his GoPro so i'll see what footage he's got of me so far - but its purely for comedy value! If its anything like footage of me skiing, what I think I look like in my head is very very different to what I actually look like.
When new a few months ago, new shock going on tomorrow so new pics soon.

Awesome bike by the way!
Cheers enduro kid,
CCDB Air CS.
Sweet!
I fancy a CCDB but will give the CTD a crack first, I've literally had it a few months so need to reign in my spending!!
Although I am making the switch to 1x10 🙂
@Jamie, that's fabulous.
@wobliscott, I was just trying to be funny 😳 Nirvana guys used to jump the Bandit a bit.
@eurokidd - you really are hysterical on the photo imbedding.
Get the web address of the file including the filename and .jpg bit - that has to go into the popup which comes up with the IMG button or in fact you can just post is direct with [im] and [\img] at front and back of the file.
here is the address (from flickr with [img] bit removed) for a photo of my bike at Mam Tor in Peak District, see if you can post it as a picture 🙂
I'm not sure what I copying when I try to upload my own photos but I just can't get it, ha!

That's it, I bloody give up!!!!!
I get the bit about how you post and where, it's just the link I can't figure out!
Why is this so bloody hard?!!!!

Haha!!
