Should PSAs include courier where known?

My heart sank when I ordered something following the Endura PSA and received a message that Evri we're shipping it. The likely cluster**** is magnified by my living abroad and I would have definitely thought twice if I had known. Any mileage in posters adding this info if they have actually taken advantage of their own PSA

Not really. Evri are as good as any of the other couriers where I live. I'm currently waiting on a parcel that's apparently been stuck at the local depot for a few days. Frankly I think it's lost, but that is the first one I can remember since they changed their name.

It's probably a better idea for people who have a problem with a particular courier to check before they buy something.

I sometimes check and have not bought something in the past because it would be Yodel who it was sent with, but usually I don't check and it doesn't really matter. Yodel do deliver, but just tend to either chuck stuff over the gate or stash it behind the bins, but every one else is generally ok, my Evri driver is really good.

I can see that being an idea if the courier is the only one available but, as has been said before, a lot of the issues are local.

För kännedom, i had a package sent to me from the UK by Evri (at the UK end) and the biggest ballache was PostNord at my end. Not with the local team, but the main part that deals with incoming stuff.

I had the same issue with something coming from Germany... Sending side: no issues. PostNord in Sweden? Days waiting for it.

Honestly, despite this "free movement of goods.... etc, I am still anxious about my hopefully coming parcel from Finland.

I ordered from Endura on Friday and Evri delivered on Sunday.

Had a couple of bad experiences with Evri over the years. They aren't the best but not the worst.

Checking before pressing the buy button would be ideal but I've yet to find a site that offers that facility. Normally I only find out once the order has been shipped to the courier.

Posting a PSA is nice thing to do.  Nobody has to and it's potentially doing us all a favour, which we can choose to take advantage of or not. Expecting the notifier to go a stage further and research courier details is expecting a bit much tbh. Especially as it's easy enough to do ourselves.

Maybe my message was unclear, I often see PSAs that the kind poster has already taken advantage of.all I was suggesting was that they identified the courier if they had had notification already. Not expecting any more than this. Incidentally, how does one find the favoured courier for a given retailer without pressing buy?

I'd rather use Evri than buy Endura!

Less chance of disappointment

The thing with Evri (and other couriers with that same business model)  is that a lot of the time its dependant on who the local couriers are, as they handle both pickup from homes or collection points and delivery to your door.

So different users experiences can vary a lot

We have a guy who refuses to take anything larger than a bike wheel (even if its withing evris stated regs) but is very good at delivery to the door

Same. Would I refrain from buying something just because of the courier service that company chooses to use? No.

You also need to consider the fact that companies use different couriers for different sizes of parcels/values/location etc.

I've got to be honest, I think like the poster above, a PSA is a nice 'heads up'from a kind person. To expect more than that is a little off, doesn't hurt to do a bit of work/take a punt for your discount 😀

It’s a PSA not a shopping assistant.  I’m grateful that people share good deals that I can investigate for appropriateness for my own situation.

No, you should figure that out before ordering if you are bothered. Have a day off.

I double dipped and went back for more discounted Endura last night. Look forward to the smiley Evri driver dropping it off tomorrow.
