I'm seriously considering changing my Pike Air for a set of 140mm Revelations or even 120 Rebas.

Partly for the weight saving.

Anyone done something similar? Any thoughts in general?

I guess if I went to the Rebas it would sharpen the front up by about 1 degree?

yip sold my 454 u turn 'pushed' pikes and am now running a 120mm reba team (20mm).

nearly 1lb less and with the blackbox damping is spot on.

change was on a Cotic Soul BTW

I'm intrigued by this. How much weight can be saved given a set of Pike Air U-turn are very similar to Rev Air U-turn anyway? Where do the weight savings come from?

eh. Rev air(with 20mm) is a pike air, just different decal. Seems illogical to me unless you are intending to go for the QR rev.

Bob - I might be interested in swapping the Rev's on my Blur for your Pikes if you do decide to go down that route,,,, would save a bundle of cash 😉

nope - they are different, though granted very similar. the revs are a little bit lighter, but not much in it really. TBH i'd only expect to notice the difference when lifting the bike up, but not when riding it.
if you really want to make the bike FEEL lighter look at wheels/tyres/tubes.

So which bit is different then Del (...or anyone else)? I'm trying to think through which bits are different, internally and externally, and I'm guessing the only difference must be the lowers.

Don't swap to the 2009 Rev, you'll be disappointed.

The 2010 one however will have the same great damping as the Reba and I think I read it might be under 4lb.

Nuke - U-turn for dual air, & maxle light, 1/2lb+ weight saving, plus I got £250 for the old Pikes so a good up grade for £80 to lighter new forks.

remember reading that the lowers are different, and it's maxle light ( whatever the difference there is ) rather than plain old maxle.

lowers are the same but a rev has a hoolow crown that's where the weight difference lies
