I'm 12 stone in my pants and ride a single pivot Marin.
Would a Monarch shock with an L L tune be wrong for me?

Do you ride in your pants?

A lot will depend on how you ride, and how you like your shock to feel, I have mates with similar bikes/weight to me, who are happy with the standard shock, while myself and Loco tuned the hell out of mine to acheive near perfection for me. (note to others with custom tune- if it has to go to Mojo for a replacement body tube, mention it's a custom tune, and you don't want it returned to standard by a well meaning technician).

Excuse my ignorance but what exactly does L L mean . I'm assuming low compression and rebound .Surely those things can be taken care of by air pressure and the rebound dial.
How would anyone know what tune they need without trying them all?
What do bike companies put on their bikes when the prospective buyers could have a 10st weight difference?
