It looks like I need a new BB, and I figured this is a good excuse to upgrade my 2 year old deore cranks. But now I can't quite decide if I can justify the extra cost of XTR over XT!
I'm only going to be upgrading the cranks + BB and keeping my rings. It looks like M970 XTR will cost me around £200, but XT will come in around £100. So, quite a difference.
And then there's always the option of keeping my perfectly good (if a little worn and dull) deore cranks and buying a shiny new Hope BB.
What's a man to do?
New BB for now... upgrade the whole lot when new drivechain needed! 😉
Buy a new shiny Chris King Bottom Bracket.
I used to ruin a headset a year at least (£30-340 region) until I got a Chris King headset. I've had it for 3 years now and its been on 4 frames.
I'm sure the Ck BB's will be similar quality. Not much more than Hope either.
