Would a 0.8 shim do the job or is the tolerance too tight?
Perhaps rub down the shim with emery cloth or wirewool?

Would of thought you could jam it in.

But you could just buy a 30.9 x 31.6 shim? Clicky link to Use 30.9 to 31.6 shim

In stock as well.

I shim my 30.9 Gravity Dropper to 31.6 with a shim from GD direct. It works fine and the seat doesn't budge but the quality of the shim is a bit poor due to how thin it is. I would like a better quality one and the USE one in the above post looks fine but £5.50 postage, what? I mean seriously that is really too much.
