I have the Shimano funnel and a bottle of Shimano mineral oil, but not a syringe. I assume in this case that bleeding from the top down is the order of the day but I can't find any instructions.

I am sure it is easy, but I just want to make sure. The trouble is that all the guides I can find use a syringe at the caliper.

Anyone got any decent instructions for this?

Depending on how much air is in them you can just put the funnel on and flick the lever and air bubbles will come out.

I'd rather purge and replace the fluid as I am going to Whistler in a couple of weeks and they haven't been bled since last years trip.

You need to push fluid up from the caliper.
Did you get the small bottle with a conical nozzle and a piece of tubing?

No, I've got a large bottle of oil, the funnel, and some tubing.

Ah ok. You've seen the basic principal on the videos. The bottle with the nozzle lets the tubing fit onto the nozzle then to the caliper squeezing the bottle works like the syringe.
So you could search around to see if you have something similar like a dropper bottle that fits the tubing, it only needs about 30ml to fully fill the system.
Your best bet is to try a chemist they should be able to sell you a syringe or get the shimano small bottle then you can refill that from the large bottle in the future.

Yeah. To be honest I was gonna do it tonight and trying to find ways to make it work, but I think I'll wait and go and get some syringes tomorrow and do it properly
