I need to get some more SPD's and has anybody used these yet?

Is the cage a worthwhile addition?

Thanks for any assistance

Cheers

I looked at them but couldn't really see the point, so I got the 980's instead.

I reckon it will depend on what sort of shoe you are using. With a softer sole and a bit of tread, the cage would give some welcome support on longer days out. With a very stiff sole, you'll hardly notice the difference.

They look very nice in the flesh - almost enough to tempt me away from the CB Candys.

I think they looks amazing! I am waiting on some to replace my M646a but they aren't due for a while...

Druid that's a very good point. I normally used Sidi Dominators which have stiffish soles so may not get any benefit from the platform

My LBS has a set in and they do look v good

My xc race type shoes barely touch the cage of my DX spd pedals I would think these are next to pointless. 540's FTW.

Are they for people who want the XTR bling without having SPD [s]problems[/s] pedals?

What's the right answer on these? I've got some on back order so I'd like to know. I was just thinking it would be a bit more pedal to stand on for those times when you can't quite clip in.
