[Closed] Shimano Microspline Cassette, Eagle Mech?

[#11803602]

I've just tried replacing my worn out GX Eagle cassette with a Deore 12sp cassette, as it's way cheaper.

However, the Eagle GX mech doesn't seem to move far enough outboard, so it can never shift into the smallest cog.

Lots of people seem to do the other way round (GX cassette, shimano mech), so it seems like it should work.

Has anyone else tried running with this setup and feels like furnishing me with some words of wisdom?!

I've done the opposite no issues. I had this issue with my eagle mech I replaced and it turned out it was because the mech was bent; I couldn't tell looking at it but the bike shop noticed straight away.

I'm assuming you've adjusted the limit screws and tried to index it already?

Have you adjusted the limit screws?

Yes, should have said, I've let the limit screws out until they aren't touching the stops by a long way, and the cable is slack.

Interesting about it being bent. It was shifting fine on the gx cassette, but I'll have a closer look...

Hmmm OK, thanks for the feedback everyone. I'll go and have another look, see if I can work out why it seems to be completely out
