I see what you mean, but not really.

There was some documented user-conflict in my local woods, caused when Dhers clattered through the wood and road gapped when horse riders were nearby. A horse may totally freak out if it hears you but can't see you, and the risk to its rider from being thrown is quite high. If you don't know horses this may not be obvious.

The conflict is mostly resolved now the gap jumps are gone. And they loudly but politely ask you to stop until they have passed, especially if there are novice riders. Am happy to oblige.
