had my spare 07 patriot sent away to orange for a respray and new decals. whilst that was being done, i sent the fork too.
so now i've got a fresh looking frame, a 2009 fox talas rc2 with new lowers, bushings and new stanchions, and a brand new fox rp23 shock to go with it.
should i attempt to sell these parts separately, or should i build up a complete bike to sell?
i've got most, if not all of the spare parts (full xt drivetrain, avid elixir cr brakes, mavic 321's on hope pro 2's
any advice would be appreciated!
I believe most people are of the opinion that , selling the parts separately will get you the most money... I have never sold anything other than whole bikes so have no idea. 😉
i've heard that too, but it almost seems silly not to built it.
i've tried to get an idea of what it'd be worth if it was fully built, but all i can seem to find, is really old battered ones, or ones with poor specs selling for around £600-800.
If you were going to sell, why did you bother spending the cash to do them up? You'll never get it back...
was planning on keeping it as a spare, for friends or family to use if they fancied trying riding. but seems that non of them are interested. so it seems pointless to keep it now!
Separate will get more money but it also takes more time and is more hassle
New lowers, stanchions and a service! I don't even want to know how much that cost!
I have to admit to a nasty habit of recycling bike parts into cobbled together rebuilt bikes, then keeping them. I'm up to four so far and it's only going to get worse.
@d45yth, it definitely would've been a better idea to just buy some new forks!! it wouldn't have cost much more 🙁
