The rear shock on the GF's bike has picked up a scratch :-(.
The big scratch you can feel and has a slight burr.
What is the latest thinking on DIY fixes at the moment ?
In the past I've got a very fine file and took the burr off and finished with a bit of nail varnish.
Any thoughts or not worry, as it's location is near the end of the shock.

Is that inside the travel of the seal?
Wouldn't worry, unless she constantly bottoming out.
I reckon the worst scratch is just outside the travel of seal at the moment.
I just asked her about bottoming out, all I got was a slap 😉
Seriously I don't think she bottoms out her shock ever, so far anyway.
shove a volume spacer in so it doesn't reach that point 😉

I'd just take the sharp edges off it and carry on. But then I own no unmangled suspension, I couldn't afford to fix it all even if I wanted to.
That's not a scratch that's a gash!
If she never gets full travel then you probably don't need to worry, but [comments about state of ridden bike aside 😉 ] ... if she does, then dirt and crap will be getting dragged past the seals on every outing and you'll be needing to service that [more] regularly.
She just got back from Bontrager/Plymouth bash when the pic was taken.
The bike is maintained quite well.

Given that the o-ring is beyond the scratch, I'd say she does use all the travel.
Wet and dry sandpaper to bet rid of any proud edges, and fill the void with nail varnish.
