I think I know the answer to this but if someone could confirm it before I have another go and risk breaking my bike!!
I need to take the shock off of my Spark and the top bolt will not budge. I am attacking it from the non-drive side. I am now convinced I should be turning it clockwise - I have seen a YouTube video and there is mention of it being reverse threaded on a thread on here. Pretty conclusive but if someone has some real-life experience I would be uber grateful!

Outstanding and thanks. Just glad I didn't put a massive lever on it and 'persuade' it in an anti-clockwise direction!!

Just going through the same process, glad I came across this thread!
Why oh why do they do it... even the Bird Aether had some random process, the current G170 i have has another process...
why not keep it simple, standard threads etc.

If you think about it for a minute it will become obvious!
Standard eyelet mounted shocks with through bolts usally have the top bolt one way round and the bottom the opposite way to resist undoing.
With trunnion mount you have two bolts either side, so one has to be reverse threaded to resist undoing for the same direction of rotation.
Something like that anyway!
