I need to make my silly wide bars slightly less silly - got a reasonable hacksaw but no vice or anything. Will I die? Thinking of using some old lock-ons as a guide to get it straight.

do I need a vice

We all need a fetish or two ๐Ÿ˜‰

Old lockons will be fine. trim a little off a few times rather than too much all at once.

Pipe cutter would prob be better, no vice required!

Your stem will hold them in place while cutting

^ what he said, using lock rings as a guide. Are they alu or carbon?

Workmate (or B&Q copy) is ideal for the job and only a tenner or so. Handy for all sorts of jobs including bike fettling.
