Has anyone used an alternative?
Need to do my bearings on mine and really dont want to pay the £68 + delivery for the two tools direct from Santa Cruz themselves.

Basically its two of these in slightly different sizes....robbing barstewards!!!

The main bearings are guaranteed for life or 5 years or whatever, so would be cheaper to take it to your local SC dealer who should be able to do it under warranty for the labour cost alone which will be much cheaper that buying new bearings plus the tools.

FYI, I had top ones replaced earlier this year - they had collapsed and welded themselves in so was a Dremel job to get them out. Possibly not for the home mechanic?

I bought the frame 2nd hand so i cant do that. I'll have to get them by the sounds of it as I dont want to wreck the carbon carrier they are sat in.

Cheers CM

how much is the frame worth with new bearings? How much with knackered bearings? If you need the tool buy it. Sell with frame or use it next time.
