Today I rescued two damsels in distress. I thought I had better brag about it on here.
Out for a cycle ride along the canal - one young lady with a chain all tangled and jammed around the BB behind the chainrings- she didn't know how to change gear and got terminal chain suck. Chain freed off for her and a 30 second lesson in how to change gear and she was sorted.
Another young lady 15 miles from home with a puncture and no pump. I got my trusty puncture repair outfit out and is a dazzling display of macho heroism repaired her puncture for her, She was dazzled by my skills!
Unfortunately we were out on the tandem so Mrs TJ was watching me carefully - no chance to take advantage of the damsels swooning in the shadow of my magnificence! My only reward was a smile.
In all seriousness I always offer assistance if someone gets a mechanical - but its rare that anyone needs help and these two were particularly clueless. Still - hopefully that something stored up in the Karma bank

Didnae notice - I think one of them had the classic "helmet on the back of the head with loose straps" tho now you mention it. I am far to much the gentleman to say anything to a damsel in distress anyway.
