I currently have a Pipedream Alice, and am looking at a Salsa Fargo to set up in addition to have one for road and one for off road. Are they too similar to warrant having both?
If not, any thoughts on which one would be better for road and which for off road?
They’re both super versatile and while I would like both, I’m not sure they are different enough to warrant it - thoughts welcome!

Can't directly help but have nearly finished a PD ALICE build. I'm hoping it will be my all round on/off road tourer! I'd have thought that the two are similar, with the Fargo leaning a little more on the mtb side of things with increased tyre clearance?
Why not buy a road bike for road?
At the moment I have the Pipedream usually setup for commuting (but am setting it up for BPW with some 27.5x2.8 tyres tonight) with 47c WTB Horizons and Mudguards.
Essentially I have a small new bike pot to play with and I haven’t got a dedicated road or MTB at the moment, so playing with ideas of what to do with the Pipedream so I know what gap needs filling more - and I’m a sucker for a Fargo after getting pretty obsessed with Tour Divide!
