Popular in America, its a Sub-24hr overnighter apparently. Perhaps a more apt description than "bivvy", as it allows for camping of all varieties and saves on time wasted in the "If you're in a tent you're cut off from nature, so it doesn't score as high on the hardcore scale" arguements.
Think I might start using it and be all yankee-fied ๐
Anyone hear it used before?
Would it not be S24O then?
I'm sure it should, but everywhere I saw it yesterday had it as S240.
a sub-24hr overnighter is....a bivvy trip...no?
Yes...sort of...but when does a bivvy become camping? I've seen arguements on here about being in a tent can't be described as bivvying. S24O just seems to sum it up neater.

when there's a toilet and shower block?
urm - who cares what its called - surely its just a name - whats in a name .....
