Just bought these Rock Shox Revelation Race 2010 Dual Air 140 with Poplock from On One. When I opened the box a red metal 'thing' fell out. Looks like an allen key with handle attached. You can see on the bottom of the left leg.

Is it for adjusting the rebound when I need to or should it be permanently attached to the forks?

Confused of Bristol.

It is the rebound adjuster and should be attached to the forks. It should just pop back in...

Shouldn't fall off, no.

Push it back in, should stay put.

Lost mine on my old revs on the first ride. I removed it from my Pikes before even riding them, put it my tool kit and covered the bit where it was on the forks with a small rubber cap. It's hardly like you use it all the time anyway.

Some seem looser than others. I used to keep one in my backpack instead of on fork as it kept falling out.

its just an allen key. so long as you have a multi tool on your ride you dont need it with you...

Cheers all.

I think I'll just keep it somewhere safe.
