I've a monarch rt3 that needs a new shock shaft so an £85 service plus a shock shaft at £40*+ and P&P will be similar money to a 2012 RP23 + bushes from CRC, so long as the stock holds
*thats what a specialized shock shaft was 2 years ago, so thinking with rockshox spares prices it'll be more?
Don't know whether to go with getting the monarch fixed up to hold onto Dual Flow Rebound or go new with an RP23 and get a better? ProPedal arrangement and find out what Boost Valve is all about?
I don't really get what boost valve does tbh though
Did you sort your shock out?
I'm also looking at swapping my RP2 for a monarch rt3, but not sure if the monarch is better..
Get it with the push piston and tune from tf tuned. Its a much better shock than a standard rp23 then.
It will be setup to your weight, riding style and leverage ratio. Furtgermore you will be able to ask for other non standard preferences such as faster ending stroke rebound or harder compression.
