Going to be fitted to a tandem used for touring and off road lite, often with panniers and towing a trailer...
needs to be 26" bare alloy and 36 hole to match with the hub... not massively wide
and while we are at it, any thoughts on good spokes for the job too
What say the hive ?
Thanks
Rigida Sputniks.

Matching rims aren't going to make it any easier on the eye. Need strength to cope with the thighs of POWA.
Enve xc29er.....
and the spokes need to be sapim strongs, which a double thickness at the shoulder end.
I use sputniks all the time, and at my heaviest was 24 stone, which is probably heavier than 2 normal sized folk and their tandem.
never had a buckle or broken spoke with the sputnik/sapim strong combo.
Sputnik rims are great either that or mavic used to do some nice strong 26 rims but not tried to get any in agea
Aren't Rohloff hubs 32H?
Mavic D521?
Don't DT make a Tandem/Downhill specific spoke?

Sounds like a similar usage to ours, which is ceramic D721s (or is it 521s? - older wide-ish rim brake model, anyway), 32h 2-cross DT Comps.
Great info, thanks folks...
Ton, good call on the spoke recommendation...
32 or 36 depending on the build you need, [s] TJ is [/s] I am going for 36 on [s] his [/s] my tandem...
