I'm spending next weekend in Folkstone with work. It looks like i'm going to be pretty much free on Sunday, so i was thinking about taking the bike...

Is there much riding to be had on the Kent Downs? It'll have to be within riding distance of Folkstone itself.

Failing that, i might just take the Road Bike.

I live between Canterbury and Folkestone and TBH my best rides have been further afeild. Take the road bike and head north through Hawkinge round towards Sandwich and back along the coast. Some lovely views of the channel etc. Pleant of lanes to choose from too.

If you want a group ride then the Activ cycles gang are always out.
I think they start out from Saltwood. I'll see what I can find out if you like?

take the road bike. the north downs are chalk/clay therefore slimy/claggy in the winter and the riding isn't all that even in the dry.
