If I wanted to ride to Dothie, maybe via Irfon forest, is there a decent route over the hills to the NE of Rhandirmwyn? Looks like there should be on the map. Want to avoid a few miles of road in each direction if possible, and if there is a good descent off Esgair Daffyd, then all the better.
Planning to ride Cwm Rhaeadr with an extension over the hills to the SW on our other day.

never ridden up from Randy. I always start from the reservoir dam. In fact we're stopping over there on Friday night on the way to Aberystwyth for family hols. Going to be having dinner at the Royal Oak on Friday evening.
Minor roads to Llaneichindda. Off road up a bridleway climb that turns into fireroad.
Few kilometers along the top, then there is a nice downhill through Esgair Dafydd that drops you out by Llanwrtyd chapel. It is quite overgrown at the moment though.
From Llanwrtyd you can get back over towards Llyn Brianne, then over to the Doethie Valley.
