Chain and cassette pretty worn but not skipping/slipping. Of course usually you change everything but as the narrow/wide is so sturdy do you need to replace the ring at the sametime still?
Experiences?
Im going to change mine when chain etc is finally worn out, has started to drop the chain so I've put a top guide on, has been on for 10 months about 50-60km a week , mine is the Race Face NW 36 tooth , all the black anodising has worn off the teeth. ๐ cassette is an XT 36-11 chain a SRAM 1080 ..
Mines been on less but the chain is very thin/stretched
mine RF NW ring is on its 2nd chain but still first cassette. also started to drop the chain as the ring seems to have worn slightly narrower. Top guide has sorted it.
My raceface nw is on it's 3 chain and 2nd cassette, still going fine
Change the chain often enough and it should be fine. My SLX chain was massively worn to the extent even a sideways glance would drop the chain. Better with a new chain, but then the narrow teeth got to the razor sharp stage, so it was binned for a Superstar I/O. Not dropped since.
I did have to re-profile the T-Rex with a chainsaw file as that didn't like the new chain - that's how worn it was. All fine now.
Perfect. I wont replace the cassette yet as well. See how it goes.
