Other half has one on here bike. Is it just a case of keeping it clean or does it need a regular strip and lube?

Mine is coming up for 2 years and has had nothing other that a couple of bleeds after cutting the hose a couple of times. Still working perfect but feel I should send it off for a once over. If you have a good one then less messing might be better than pulling it apart all the time?
