Im just having a set of rockshox revelations fitted to my bike at the moment. Looking at the compression damping set up i cannot figure how to adjust it.

It comes with a black collar for the remote lockout to be fitted but as i dont want too much clutter on the bars and never use lockout i wont use this.

There just seems no way to adjust the damping apart from the Floodgate.

Any help?? I am a nugget when it comes to stuff like this asnd these are my first good set of forks.

Correct - having the lockout remote means you can't fine tune the compression damping, so it's either locked out or not. You can convert it to the crown mounted adjustment which will give you the full compression damping adjustment by removing the damper, unhooking a spring within the damper assembly and replacing the poploc knob on the crown with a 'normal' one.

I've done half a job on mine i.e. replaced the knob, but with my one attempt so far, not managed to unhook the spring. It's tucked away and fiddly to get to, and the spring is tight to unhook. I'll get round to finishing it one day!

Gotcha, so there are not as many settings as i first thought, i take it the slow compression damping is controlled between the positive and the negative air chambers instead of a dial. Thats making more sense to me ๐Ÿ˜€

So after a bit of reading up, as i have compression damping through negative and positive air only i assume if i want a plusher initial feel i need more air in the negative. If stiffer i need less??

Correcto?

That's not compression damping that's just air pressure fiddling.
