They lockout fine, but when i press the release button on the poploc they do not unlock.
I have changed both inner and outer cables but it still doesn't unlock.
I can't remove the compression valve top cap thingy, there is a hole on the side of it, i assumed it was for an allen key but none fit !
Please help with advise on how to remove this too clean out whatever is below as i think this must be what causing the problem.
Please help ๐
Dirt under the fork top caps and possibly a tired spring inside the moco along with dirt on the internal seal most likely causes
Thanks for reply, how does that top cap come off?
Teensy weensy allen key on mine. 2.5mm IIRC. Which is'nt not too common (with a basic tool set).
L/H threaded, but you may need to clamp the body if the top cap is really tight
Si.Those pikes are boxed and ready to go for the full monty upgrade.I,ll go over to your site now and do some form filling. ๐
Excellent cheers Rob ๐
So, try again to undo the grub screw with an allen key, fully remove. Then does the top cap pull off or unscrew that as well?
If the allen key hole has been damaged whats next?
All done Si..Full service as well please.. ๐
A remote top cap ( blue dial) will either pull off or be held in place by a circlip.
If the allen grub screw in the gate knob (small one) is rounded, try a torx key then it'll be an ez out/drilling it out/left hand drill bit job.
On mine, unscrew the 2.5 grub, then there's an oring "holding" the top cap on - just pull off. But Loco's your man once it get complicated!
Thanks for advise:)
I'll hopefully get time to have a go at it after work tomorrow.
Good evening, too cap is off, when i turn the remote too cap it feels rough, what happens if i undo the top with a socket set? Anything i should do first? Is it under pressure etc
Well that's different to what I had. But anyway, if you decide to take the top cap off to have a look, then expect to loose some 5wt fluid (that'll need replaced). Also, turning the lockout to
"open" before you unscrew the unit seems to reduce the spillage. There's no pressure in there - but its full of fluid to almost the top. As Locos suggests, I think youve got as far as narrowing it down to: "
