Went to my local Evans today who mentioned I wouldn't be able to install a remote on the 2014 Fox Float 32 Evolution 29er C/O CTD forks. I've asked MOJO via e-mail if I can, but wondered whether anyone on here might know . A bit of research on the FOX website suggests I should be able to do this - but Evans has given me cold feet. Any help would be amazing!

Thanks,

C

As far as I'm aware. Its just a top cap change.
I have a 2014 32 with a remote top cap. No remote tho.

Want to swap caps?

Yea - that's what I thought - no real reason for it not being able to work!

I'd like a remote because when changing between train and descend or vice versa the terrain doesn't lend itself well to one handed operation with eyes off the trail!

How did you get a cap like that? How do you change your CTD setting?

I bought the fork with it fitted. It was a brand new fork. Was just a bit of a bargain so couldn't resist.

The outer. Cage that attaches to the remote cable can be lifted and drops back down. So you just spin that.
The remote cap is essentially 4 parts. The black housing. The spring. The blue cap. And the bolt to hold it all togther. Very simple.

Butbin all seriousness. If you want to swap caps, give me a shout. Its unmarked as the fork's only been used twice since new.

Ok yours looks like:

Mine looks like:

Right?

Would be up for swapping - main thing is turn around time - I use my bike almost every day so being without the cap is a bit of a bugger....

Top cap change though the fitting can be really fiddly (pain in the arse and be prepared to pay a bike shop to do)

Ride without the knob for a day or two... Won't kill you.

Yep. That's the one.
I don't see why it would be fiddly. I took this one off when I first got it to see how it works. Very very simple.

The main fiddly bit with the standard top cap is the tiny spring and ball bearing at the bottom that allow the adjuster to sit in the notches. But only cos they are tiny parts.

My email is in my profile if you're interested.
