[Closed] Remind me - 130mm rear hub on a 135mm steel frame, a bit too bodge-y?

Looking for a cheap set of disc road/cx wheels for a steel frame with a 135mm rear spacing, most of the shimano sets I see are disc compatible but only 130mm OLD. I had heard of people making this work with no problems?

Alternatively thinking I might just shop around for a spare axle and relevant spacers, anything I need to be aware of before I gut a new hub?

Thanks

I don't know of any disc brake wheel sets that are 130mm.

Oops, should have said, I'm looking at road wheel sets here, i.e. the Shimano RX31s. Trying to shave weight off the original set up so not considering 29er/MTB wheelsets.

I have some 130s on my hybrid which is 135. I got a new 135mm axle (they are cheap wheels with cup and cone hubs) from the bike shop who supplied them and whacked some washers in - sorted.

Hmm, I couldn't find any official confirmation of the OLD, but in the comments section at the bottom of a road.cc review (i.e. the online messageboard equivalent of 'some bloke in pub told me') it says 135mm, maybe I'm OK, just assumed with road wheels that they would be 130 unless stated otherwise.

fair assumption until you get to discs.

130mm disc hub is a pretty rare beast. (as brant said up top)
