need something to properly lube my foam seals on my old rebas. Recommended is of course Redrum, but If I have something that'll do the trick already then I'd rather use that.
quick interweb search suggests that I could use engine assembly lube, which all are about £5 for a small bottle from the US, or some suggests 80 spec transmission oil.
I have some 90 spec transmission oil I could dilute a bit with 10W fork oil, would that do the trick? Anyone played about with what I could use?
cheers
I tend to just use whatever fork oil I have kicking about on the foam rings on my floats.
There is a suggestion to use Float Fluid, but I think thats too thick and will just cause the foam ring to get messed up.
my floats were OK with 5wt, but the rebas ate kinda stictiony. I think I'll give it a go anyway.
Invert the forks for 20 mins, the oil in the lowers will run down inside the legs and soak the foams.
Thats what I tend to do with my floats and they are fine.
