Got a 9 month old Canyon with Recon gold 120RL forks and they have developed a problem in that they appear the move the wheel and hub to the left. If I corner or hop I get a vibration through the wheel. I have tried to different wheels with the fork , had the headset greased and checked. Tried a diiferent quick release and can still visibly see the forks wheel move . Obviously Ive contacted Canyon as the components have a 2 year warranty but just wondered what the STW collective thought. It seems like one stanchion is moving more than the other.
Do Rockshox do there own warranty repairs and any Idea how long they take. ?
is the bridge between the sliders broken? otherwise its hard to see how one leg could move more than the other
Mmm not Sure Tj , I would have put this down to a loose headset or dodgy hub had It not just been in the bikeshop and does It with two different wheels. Ive contacted Canyon but surely If the bridge was broken It would be visible. ?
Yes - what I am not sure is what parts are moving. It the bridge is intat the sliders are a fairly rigid unit. Are the stanchions moving in the crown? I have had this happen. Does it happen as you rock the bike bark and forward witht eh brake on? Put you finger across all places where the moment might be and feel for it?
Not wheel bearings is it?
With brakes on I can physically see the wheel (both of them) twist at the hub. When cornering or doing a wee hop there is a vibration where the wheel is flexing . Just been out and put on a new stem as I noticed my old Easton one has a dodgy bolt. Still doing the same , I could understand If only on one wheel but as My Mavic wheel has just been serviced with the headset I dont think Its that. Also checked my brake mount at the front but they are on really tight.
