hi guys i'm looking to make my diverge dsw drophandle a little more offroad robust, i managed to rattle out some spokes on it earlier this year on cobbles. i'll be riding canal towpath, woodland, bridleway, uphill rough tech, and 60-70% road farm tracks.

whats the recommendations, my max tyre clearance is 32 (maybe 33), i fancied some schwalbe g-one style but they are too wide.
i want fast rolling, grippy and puncture proof (possibly attempt tubeless)

options appear to be
spec trigger sport 700x33c £23
conti cycloX-king 700x32 £34
conti mountain king cx 700x32 £44
kenda smal block8 £26
kenda happy medium 700x32c
or a schwalbe cxcomp 700x30c

can anyone recommend any

spec trigger is an excellent choice - if it suits great fro gravel and dry but it'll be awful on wet mud/ grass. (at least on the front)

small block 8 never seems asd fast as you'd expect.

I'd add halo twin rail to the list - never ridden one but keen to.

panaracer gravel king SK 700x32

edit: although I don't think that size is officially tubeless.

G-One 700x30 should fit, those 32c panaracer Gravel Kings SKs apparently will be ~35mm bead to bead.

I'm running a kenda happy medium 700x32c on thereat of my Grade, Can't get it to go up tubeless though. No punctures as yet. Grippy but not really draggy on the road.

The only one on your list that I've tried is the Conti X-King. I'd rate them. I ran them at 32c for a while and they were suprisingly fast rolling on the road and very grippy off road. I switched to WTB Nano 40c just because everyone rated them and my frame could take them.

thanks guys, i cant find that g-one allround in a 700x30c for sale on uk sites is a 700x32c a 28x1.2

that happy medium looks a good one, I'll avoid the spec triger then, the roads and mud is always wet in yorkshire

I've got G-One 35's fitted on Pacentil SL25 rims to my Diverge Smartweld at the moment- 34mm actual width- there's about 4mm clearance each side on the chain stays, obv. more at the seat stays and forks.
With true wheels they're fine even when it's wet/sloppy/gravelly - until mud and clay start gathering, but that's not really the Diverge's territory.

Last winter I ran WTB Crosswolf's, 32's, more clearance, loads of grip, but still had issues at times with clagging up.

EDIT: As you might have already found out, the 700x30 G-One is labeleled 'G-One Speed' - it's a rebranding of last years S-One road tyre.

I rate my SB8s but have nothing to compare them to, as I've stuck wit them for a few years on the arkose.

thanks vinnyeh, my wheels are true so i may try the g-one 35s,
i'm currently just on a turbo due to injury,

long term ideally i'm wanting a new wheelset for offroad, i'm pondering a few cyclocross events and use the current wheels for the road.

did you find it easy to get a second pair of wheels that fit the current mech hanger on the diverge SGS chainstay seems a problem if you want to use standard wheels and an alternate pair

Diverge Smartweld isn't an SCS frame, it just uses a kinked hanger to allow it to use SCS wheels.

Specialized make the Lucky Callahanger Long, which is all you need to run regular wheels on the frame.

Here's a good blog post explaining the mess that Specialised created with SCS.

@vinnyyeh to run two sets of wheels is it possible to run the axis wheel (sgs) and another brand of disc wheel using the same hanger.

Not if you want to be able to shift right across the block.
