Need some where for the wedding anniversary, its on the May bank holiday so things are booking up quick – I’m starting to panic. Lake district or maybe North Wales.

Help!

Thanks Sefton - this looks good. I think im going to have to stretch the budget. What standard room have you done? is it worth the upgrade / lake view?

dont think we had a lake view, but the room, service, food etc is all first class (it's a nice size hotel too - not too many rooms)

if its a nice day you can get lunch on the front over looking windermere.

plus its at the very bottom of the lake (so it's not swamped with tourists.

its also a 2 min walk to the ferry crossing.

+1 for the Famous Wild Boar near Crook....Excellent food and wine (and whiskey, if thats your thing!). Were going again for our anniversary in april....A bit off the beaten track too, but not too far from civilisation if you want it (Bowness, Windermere)

Make sure you go to the lakeside hotel. Then you can really treat your loved one, with a day out at Stott Park Bobbin Mill which is just down the road, and one of the Lakes best attractions.

Hotel on the shores of Tal-y-llyn is very nice. Cadair Idris right next door for a cheeky ride too!!
