I'd like to take a week off mountain biking in July/August. Looking to mainly ride technical singletrack, preferably with a little uplift.
I've been with the White Room and Ride Sierra Nevada before. Both were very good, but looking to try something new.
Some fellow riders recommended Riviera bike in Molini di Triora (Italy) - anyone been?
Any recommendations would be welcome!
If you can get in Bike Verbier are as good as it gets.
Andorra is worth a look, dry as a bone, and there's little traffic outside the bike park, you literally have the place to yourself, and there's everything from high alps to woody singletrack.
I think BV is full for the rest of the year, but would +1 Tracey's recommendation, it really is amazing.
I have met the Bike Riviera people on a Nirvana shop ride and they where excellent company. Nirvana shop rate them highly as well.
I have been following Doug and Basque MTB on facebook and they are now100% on my wishlist
At this stage you may have to see what availabilty they have
Second Bike Verbier
As above, availability may be a problem this late. At this stage you would be lucky to get on a guided week, maybe week in a Morzine hotel and just wing it, the place is usually packed with [s]mancunians[/s]brits, so shouldn't be a problem hooking up with people for a few rides or beers.

I have also done Trail Addiction - Destination X just how they advertise it, you'll probably not see more than a handful of other riders all week.
I go to Verbier every year and the riding is great although I admit we only scratch the service vs Bike Verbier not least as they habe a van/trailer uplift and venture further afield.
It can't be ignored that BV is £900 a week now vs £500-600 for other companies.
Yes, Bike Verbier is a bit out of my price range.
Ideally I'd like something in the £500-600 category.
Ciclo Montana...
I don't know how the volleyball team were the best group last week for the money....
Technical Single Track TICK
Get you started uplifts TICK
Fantastic Riding TICK
Highly experienced TICK TICK TICK.
Plus full board. Rode with the guys year before last....food was fantastic!!
Might seem more than you mention, but after you look at what you get for your dosh, it's good value.
Second for BikeVillage, AWESOME.

Been twice and no doubt be heading back again, great value for money & great riding, ideally would like to try Bike Verbier but quite a bit more expensive than Riveriabike, funny enough I was checking out the current cost last night, £540 🙂
Don't overlook Slovenia , Bike Nomad , Ani and his crew will sort you out .
Did a couple of days guided riding including some uplift with www.pureriding.eu near Girona about a month ago and it was excellent.
There's some vids, pics and a little write up at the link if you're interested:

Yep, and it shows. While these types of holidays have to have riding that will blow your socks off, the "hotel" facilities should be good as well, and I've been on £400-500 holidays that have left something to be desired. and that's what you're paying for with BV, a garage/workshop that is second to none, great food, wine, and a welcome that feels like you're staying a week at a mate's place.
@nick I appreciate that plus of course its Switzerland and thus much more expensive. I have been close to booming with them a few times (once dates where sold out, once they said pre-booked group was into massive days out with lots of climbing which I could not manage). I'll go one day I hope but currently I am happy to stay with friends in Verbier itself (free 🙂 ) and ride every other day and not for a full day (knee cannot manage more)
+1 nickc. I think some things in life are worth that bit extra. Bike Verbier are on that list for me.
Jamby, you owe it to yourself to go at least once! But having mates in Verbier! (envy) 😆
even with a dodgy knee, the climbs are manageable.
