Currently running a Halo Aerowarrior wheel. The wheel as a whole is great and still true after a power of abuse.
The trouble is the bearings which aren't lasting. I think this is partly due to sealing and partly due to the spacing of them in the hub. Something with 135mm oln and the bearing sitting more outboard would likely be better.
Any ideas?
I doubt those issues themselves will help longevity.
Cartridge bearings? Try greasing them before fitting replacements.

I would have thought more widely spaced bearings were bound to help as there is less leverage placed on them by the axle.
Fixed hubs are rarely well-sealed; corrosion is the enemy, not load.
Could buy a hub with easy-to-replace catridge bearing, or tweak an MTB hub (well-sealed). For non-disk set-ups, use a disk hub backwards with a gear to the disk mount. And then, there's the Surly Fixxer (haven't tried that).
