The wife's has been playing up for a while and Christmas is round the corner so what should I get her?

Doesn't need to be anything complicated - doesn't need GPS or cadence but something that's reliable above all. She has a HR monitor (from Decathlon I think) so if it picks up the signal from that would be ideal.

in my experience they are all cr@p. I've tried Sigma, Topeak, Avocet, Boardman, Cateye... None lasted more than a year, most stop working when the temperature goes below 2 or 3 degrees, all suffer various annoyances. Several of the wireless ones are unable to transmit a signal though the handlebars, which is a bit of a problem. My current Boardman will work on the bars, but not on the stem (guess what, I bought it because it had a stem mount).

I guess the least annoying one I've tried recently would be a Topeak V12, but many people find the display on this one a bit too small. It has a neat mount which doesn't get in the way of lights etc, but which I managed to break the first time I went out with it.

None of the above stops me buying a new one when the current one fails. My problem, I guess ๐Ÿ™‚

Yeah, my current wireless one sometimes drops the signal too. I reckon a wired one is better from a reliability POV (though doesn't look great).

I remember I used to have a Specialized one which seemed to work well
