+1 for Christchurch. It's a lovely site, leave the car there and ride through the forest to the hire centre.

It's fairly handy for my all-time favourite pub, too. (Saracen's Head at Symonds Yat). 10-minute ride there, an hour's drunken (uphill) nocturnal adventure back.
