Wondering if anyone could recommend a south or centre mcr shop to finish off my inbred build. I'd need somewhere that won't mind me bringing in a load of second hand parts (the only bits I'd be purchasing would be cables, chain and a bb).

Lots of choice, all of which will be able to do the job for you at varying prices and build times.

Central:

Harry Hall, Whitworth Street
G Bob & Hippy, Northern Quarter
Bicycle Boutique, round the back of the Sandbar
Evans, Deansgate
Edinburgh bike Co-op, Wilmslow Rd (top pf Curry Mile)
Bicycle Doctor, Dickenson Rd (bottom of Curry Mile)

South:

Withington Cycles, Withington
Cyclesurgery, Princess Parkway (Didsbury)
Ken Foster's Cycle Logic, Barlow Morr Road, Chorlton
Royles, Wilmslow
Rick Green Cycles, Handforth
Eddie McGraths, Urmston

Or, you could buy all the bits you need, and bring it round to mine in West Didsbury and I'll build it for you (for a small donation ๐Ÿ˜€ )

Like OMITN, my bike building services are available for the cost of a few bottle of reasonable quality beer ๐Ÿ˜‰ (I'm in Marple)

C: you're welcome. It's worth doing the spannering yourself and getting a more experienced builder (OMITN in this case) to advise, that way you know how to do it yourself next time. I feel a photoset might be calling...

North West MTB Centre, Stockport has a few 'World Cup' and 'World Champ' mechanics, I wouldn't go anywhere else ๐Ÿ˜‰

If ytou're in Chorlton then go and See Rob at WIthington Cycles. He's a top bloke. You can't beat a good LBS where you deal direct with the owner rather than a surly 18 yr old wannabee.

Rob at WIthington Cycles? I think i went round there once when he was very... ahem...'tired and emotional'. It was about 10 on a Saturday morning. I like that in a business owner ๐Ÿ™‚

Wow, when my old boss was tired and emotional we didn't see him for three days. Or if it was wet outside, or if he'd been near his bike, or if he was expecting a phone call, or it was a tuesday...
